Last days of fall

We are trying to take advantage of these last nice days of fall before the weather really turns cold.  Austin spent the day cleaning out gutters, hacking off hostas, cleaning out the landscaping and hauling more leaves to the yard waste site (three trips today).  I pulled out most of the rest of the garden after the hard freeze on Thursday night.  Fall yard work is bittersweet to me.  It's kind of nice to get things all cleaned up, but it looks so barren and reminds me that winter is just around the corner.

Lincoln maybe had a little too much fun in the sandbox.  He secretly grabbed a watering can with some water, which he poured all over his lap and in the sandbox.  Then he hiked up his jeans and tried to bury his legs.  Add to that a face covered in sticky orange popsicle and you head straight from the yard to the bathtub when it's time to go inside!

Emily had fun playing in the playhouse.  Her twirly ribbon is hopeless knotted, but it makes a fun and interesting rope until it gets completely wound around the steering wheel.
