Here's my idea--have Emily put them all back together (which I think she can do), then try to flip them over (using a cookie sheet) and make a mark with a colored pencil on the back of each piece--different color for each puzzle. This way if they get mixed up, they can be sorted by color. You could even let Emily do the marking if you don't care how it looks!
