The sun sets on the Silhouette

Austin & I took a little road trip to the Birdnow dealership in Cascade, IA today and came home with a new (to us) van!  We traded in our silver 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette and bought an Inferno Red 2006 Chrysler Town & Country.  The Silhouette served us well for 2 1/2 years and 50,000 miles, but the cost of repairs was catching up to us.  Now we're excited to have very low mileage, Stow & Go seats, two power sliding doors and a built-in DVD player!

Emily's first reaction when we got home was a tantrum pleading to "bring the red car back".  After Austin showed her the DVD player and let her crawl around in it awhile she had a change of heart.  He then had to literally carry her kicking and screaming back into the house.  I foresee some more fits in the future as Emily learns that the DVD player is for special, longer trips and not for going the 8 blocks to the library or the 6 blocks to the grocery store.  Even a trip to Waterloo/Cedar Falls will probably not include a video.  Not only do we have a cassette player for the beloved "Wee Sing Silly Songs," we also now have a 6-disc CD changer.  That opens a whole new world of possibilities!

Thanks again for your purchase from us. I think about your folks often. We enjoy being a small part of nice peoples lives when they are in need of a vehicle. Mark Birdnow
