I helped out with a bachelorette party on Thursday night. After dinner with 20 girls at a nice restaurant I was in charge of the chocolate cake. :o)
I also helped decorate on Friday morning and got a pedicure with the bridal party in the afternoon. For the actual wedding I was in charge of the guest book, gifts and handing out escort cards for the table assignments at the reception. I called it "guest logistics." Austin did just as much work as I did.
It was an extra fun wedding because I was able to see and talk to people from many stages of my life. There were friends from high school I haven't seen in years. There were also lots of friends from college. My other former roommate, Sarah, who got married on New Year's Eve was a bridesmaid, so we got to spend some quality time together.
The other neat thing was a full "PL" reunion. The big, old house we lived in for two years was divided up into three apartments. It had been dubbed "The Promised Land" years before we got there. Angie, Sarah & I lived on the main floor. My now BIL, Adam, and the groom, Brian, lived on the top floor. Three goofy guys lived in the middle. Although we have gotten together on a few occasions since graduating, this is the first time all eight of us have been together. So many good memories!
I wish all the best to Angie & Brian as they start their new life together!
