Blueprints and a song

Emily continues to rock the piano and is eager to know what all the musical symbols and annotations mean.  Although she is not reading music from a staff quite yet, she has been introduced to some basic elements.  With that and her own observations, she has composed her first song called, "O Beautiful Christmas Tree."  She asks me to play it, but I tell her it's her song, so she can play it.  ;o)

Emily's wheels have also been spinning with more architectural design.  This time I caught her with the reading light on in her room at 10:15pm on a school night because she had been sketching the blueprints to a 4-story dollhouse mansion she wants Austin to build.  I pointed out the fact that it might be a little difficult to construct dual pools on the second floor, to which she replied, "Oh no, Mom, they're just pretend.  It will be fine."  Alrighty then.  We'll have Daddy get right on that!
