Friends of Dix

We volunteered to help with a lit drop in Waverly this weekend for our friend, Bill Dix, who is running for the Iowa Senate. Unfortunately, as soon as we were all ready to step out the door on Saturday it started pouring rain and didn't stop for 2 hours. Just as unfortunate was the fact that we had been outside earlier in the day and had forgotten to put the lid back on the sandbox. This is what happens when it rains 1.3 inches and the sandbox is partially located under an eave with no gutter.

So Austin & Emily had to bail it out.  Oh the irony!  It's going to take quite awhile to completely dry out. At least we'll be able to make some real sandcastles!

Sunday afternoon was beautiful and sunny. I stayed home while Lincoln was napping and Emily headed out on her bike with Austin. She did pretty well with the bike and the fliers and must have had fun because she sure was chatty when they got back. She even insisted on rolling up a flier like Daddy and sticking it in our door handle. :o)
