At the beginning of March, I volunteered to help Emily's class build bird houses with the Bremer County Conservationist. It was made of pre-cut, pre-drilled pine boards that just needed to be nailed together. Emily only hit my finger once (and I sported a blood blister for quite a while). The house is specifically designed for a House Wren.
At home, I supervised Emily putting a coat of primer on the outside. I forgot how much of a learning curve painting is!
I asked Emily repeatedly if she wanted to paint anything special on it or a different color, but she was happy with just white. Today (4/13/13), Austin finally hung it up on a tree in the backyard. We'll see what happens!
