15 months old!
Emily is now 15 months old. She is a healthy 32" tall and 25.2 lbs. Her current obsession is with reading books. We probably average 45 min. of book time a day (which is a lot for an active toddler!). It's a wonderful thing until you've just finished your 5th rendition of The Very Hungry Caterpillar in a row and can't think of one more variation of the story. ;o) Needless to say, we took a trip to the library today and extended our normal book limit from 4 to 8.
Some other fun facts: Emily loves to lay on her tummy in the bathtub and kick like a frog. She also says "Bwess" when someone sneezes. She's working on the bottom set of first molars right now. The top ones are through. We had a chance to squeeze in a little outdoor time last weekend in between the Arctic blasts. She now refers to her sled as "Whee!" and asks for her "boots" to be put on. When we pulled her around the block on the sled she said, "Whoa!" the whole time. :o)

Videos
At the bottom of our blog you will find some "video players" with all of our family videos. I will still highlight some of them within the blog posts, but if you'd like to view all of the videos please feel free to use the navigation tools at the bottom. One player is dedicated to video highlights from 2007. The other player is our 2008 videos YTD. I may start breaking them down by month depending on the volume. Both lists are in reverse chronological order. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments!
Hair
Emily likes to pretend she's doing her hair like mommy! Her own hair is getting quite long, and since she doesn't really keep any hair clips in (despite mommy's desperate pleas) we decided to try a side pony tail. I've decided that it just might be impossible to get it in without pulling her hair and making her cry, but we'll keep trying!
Climbing
Emily really likes to climb on things--even when they aren't necessarily meant for climbing. She has figured out that if she removes the cushion from the glider rocker she can get up onto it by herself without a boost from mom. This provides a lot of entertainment value for both of us. :o)
P.S. You might notice a few scrapes under her nose in one picture. That was the result of a little tumble down the stairs last week. :o(

Chipmunk Cheeks
Sometimes when I need to buy an extra 10-15 minutes to get dinner ready I let Emily dig around in the pantry cupboard that normally has a child safety-latch engaged. This is what happens lately... :o)
New Flip Video
Austin & I spent our Christmas gift money on a new Flip video camera. It is one of the coolest and simplest electronic devices I have ever used. I captured this video while trying it out. It's also my first attempt at posting a video on the blog. Please let me know if you have trouble viewing it.
Note: The quality of the original video clip is much higher than what comes through on this web site.

New Blog!
Welcome to our new family blog! I (Megan) decided it was time to jump into the blogosphere as a way to let our family and friends keep up on what's going on in our lives at their own convenience. Plus it will be a fun way to share more stories and videos of our family! All of our pictures will continue to be available on Winkflash (please feel free to email me for viewing directions at any time), but we can share our highlights on a more regular basis. Enjoy!
